We will release the list of laboratories that are accepting students and the dates of oral exams on our web site.
We have a quota determined by MEXT, which means we need to compare between applicants to keep the number of accepted students within some number. We have no idea of how many applicants of what kind of ability apply to each of Schedule A and B, especially under this difficult condition. Therefore, we are unable to provide a solid projection at this moment.
Nevertheless, our current plan for Schedule B is to accept a few students, as we have done so for years. Althorugh the eligibility requirement is the same as Schedule A, some laboratories may not be accepting students in Schedule B due to the lab capacity. The situation varies depending on laboratories, so please ask to individual laboratories about the likeliness of accepting students in Schedule B.
Anyone can apply to both Schedule A and B. Even if you fail in Schedule A, you can apply again in Schedule B. Please confirm that your prospective lab is accepting students when you apply. Also, an exception is that if you are accepted in Schedule A, you are not allowed to apply in Schedule B of the same academic year.
