Oral exams (the Biomedical Innovation course)

We answer questions regarding the oral exams for the Biomedical Innovation course.

Can you give us more details of the oral exams (Master course)

A/B schedule

The oral exam will be held face-to-face at the Shirokanedai campus. Questions will be asked about general items related to the contents of the Inquiet Sheet (in total 25 minitues).

Can you give us more details of the oral exams (Doctral course)

For those who pass the first round of selection, the second round of the oral examination will be held face-to-face at the Shirokanedai campus.

First, submit the abstract of your master's thesis (2 sheets of A4 size) by the specified deadline before the oral exam.
In the oral exam, the following four points will be explained in total for about 10 minutes (using PowerPoint), followed by a 15-minute question-and-answer session about the content of the presentation.

① Motivation,
②Research conducted so far (regardless of whether you have graduated or not, the content of your research in your master's program, and if you have continued research after completing your master's degree, an outline of that research)
③Summary of the anticipated doctoral research plan (this may change after admission)
④For those with working experience, policies regarding the relationship between work content and research themes and understanding of the workplace;

Regarding research you have conducted so far, in addition to your master's thesis, you may also explain research you conducted after graduating from graduate school. Although it is expected that the research plan will change after admission, it is recommended that you visit the laboratory in advance and discuss what kind of research theme you are interested in with your prospective supervisor before submitting your application. 

The oral examination for Schedule A will be held in August for both graduates and non-graduates, October admissions, and April admissions, excluding those who have not yet graduated from the university of Tokyo with April admissions.

For schedule B, the exam will be held in January, and you can choose to enroll in April or October.
